GRABBING OF PRIME MILITARY PROPERTY????😡😡
The Headquarters Army Training Command (HQ ARTRAC) in Shimla is being planned to be shifted, the Army Headquarters is considering three locations where ARTRAC could be moved to. They include Meerut, Bangalore and Gaya.
Shimla, a beautiful hill city, was once the summer location of the Commander-in-Chief of the British Indian Army. That gave it an array of heritage buildings as far as the Army’s facilities were concerned.
That is where the HQ Western Command existed from 1954 to 1985. The Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana Area was also located there after move of HQ Western Command. HQ ARTRAC replaced HQ PHP & H Area.
ARTRAC is located in civil area in centre of Shimla Close to Mall Road. ARMY Officers old Bungalows are located on main Mall Road co-located with houses of CM, Ministers, Secys, HC Judges etc. Annadale, a beautiful plateau tucked inside the hills just below the HQ ARTRAC is a golf Course and military training ground cum helipad.
Let us not fool ourselves here what the intention behind the idea of shifting the HQ ARTRAC from Shimla is. Prime property in the heart of Shimla belongs to the Army.
