THUGS OF HINDOOSTAN..................... THE GREAT CORAL HEIST
Emperor of India, Narendra Modi decided that we will build a megaport in the Great Nicobar Island(GNI) with a massive container handling terminal. The strategic location on the Malaca straits shipping route.
There was a problem, the GNI has a huge coral reserve with GRADE-I(ICRZ-I) ecologically sensitive zone as per ICRZ or Island Coastal Regulation Zone regulations, an Indian government framework under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) to protect ecologically sensitive coastal areas of islands, classifying them into zones (ICRZ-I, II, III, IV)
ICRZ-I specifies that it is highly protected and no activity can be done that would damage the ecologically sensitive zone
What do Modi's lackeys do??
Simple, pick up the old maps, shift the ICRZ-I on the map and release a new map. This is what is called "cartographic invasion" like the Chinese do to Arunachal Pradesh calling it Zangnan.
There is a problem in that........
Coral reefs are static marine organisms that dont move. Corals are actually living animals. They are formed over 1000s of years of deposits and exists only in a specific shallow depth with optimal sunlight penetration and water temperatures. While the colony itself does not move, it grows, feeds, reproduces, and builds structure.
Coral reefs are restricted to the photic zone, typically occurring at depths shallower than 50 meters (160 feet), with a maximum of around 150 meters, because they need sunlight for photosynthesis. They require clear, warm (typically 20°C–30°C), saline, and agitated water for the symbiotic algae (zooxanthellae) living within the coral tissues to perform photosynthesis and provide nutrients.
Global warming and rise in sea levels is causing serious damage to the Great Barrier reef of Australia.
What the babus did was shift the Coral reefs on the maps from the coastal zones to the deeper portions of the sea. Problem solved, now no Coral reefs in the intended port location.
Just note the pre 2021 map and post 2021 map issued by the National Center For Sustainable Coastal Management(NCSCM) a government organisation under Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC)
The dark green zones were/are the Coral reefs and ICRZ-I status zone. In the post 2021 map, the complete coastal green ICRZ-I belt has vanished and a blob has shifted out into the sea.
Galathea Bay in specific which has been chosen for the port location not only is ICRZ-I because of the Corals but also as a nesting ground for the endangered Leatherback Turtles. If you note, the complete green ICRZ-I blob in the Galathea Bay area has vanished in the post 2021 map.
Galathea National Park is within the Great Nicobar Island Biosphere Reserve which was declared by the government in 1989 and was recognised as UNESCO Biosphere Reserves in 2013.
The Great Nicobar Island Biosphere Reserve is at risk of being destroyed and developed into a Military and trading hub by the Indian government as part of the Great Nicobar Development Plan. The 9 billion dollar project will include the construction of the International Container Transshipment Port; upgrade of Campbell Bay to a dual-use airport for military and civilian purposes; a gas, diesel, and solar-based power plant; and a greenfield township on the 1,000-square-kilometer island.
