JOHN RAMBO PRO MAX
NO DISRESPECT TO ANY SOLDIER HERE: NEITHER INTENDED NO IMPLIED
THIS IS AN OBSERVATION/COMMETARY ON THE NARRATIVE PEDDLED
I myself am a former military aviator and combat veteran
Accha by the way, the "second pilot", actually the Weapon System Officer(WSO), we are told is a Colonel. Yeah the one who was rescued by destroying 2 C-130s, several helicopters on ground.
The average age for a Colonel (O-6) in the U.S. Air Force, including Weapon Systems Officers (WSOs) in the F-15E, typically ranges from 44 to 48 years old. Average out at 46.
The Commander of an F-15E Wing is a Colonel and will frequently fly to maintain currency and lead from the front. Why would a Colonel fly in the back seat? Anyways he flew in the backseat.
We are also told that the Colonel was injured.
We are also told that he trekked across semi mountainous terrain, 172 kms(107 miles), evading Iranian soldiers and hostile locals using evade and escape technique.
We are also told that he CLIMBED ACROSS A 7000 FEET high ridgeline to reach his point of extraction.
We are told that he achieved all this superhuman feat in 24 hours time.
JUST TO PUT IT IN PERSPECTIVE
A trained Special Forces/commando is generally expected to cover between 60 km and 100 km (37 to 62 miles) in a 24-hour period, depending on the terrain, load, and unit-specific standards.
John Rambo is often cited as having covered 107 miles (172.2 km) in a single 24-hour period during his training or a specific mission in Vietnam, but in none of the Rambo series (First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III, Rambo, Rambo: Last Blood) is he "46 yrs old" nor does he climb any 7000 feet mountain.
Yaar, Hollywood does make some bizarre movies like Rambo, but this narrative peddled about this "injured, 46 years old Colonel climbing a 7000 feet high mountain ridge, covered 172 kms, all in one day" is far beyond Hollywood quality.
