COCKEYED MORAL POLICING STARTED BY VHP

Who the hell will decide which Durga is "sanskari" and which is not "sanskari"? Based on what parameters?

Who're these Saffron Jamatis to give fatwas on Art?? Our civilization never shied away to portray our deities in various andromorphic forms of Art. They should also ban Gīta-Govindam then.

Who the hell "cooks" non veg inside the puja pandals/inside place of worship? Who're they to give fatwas on non-veg to those who offer fish & mutton to their deity!!

The Bengali dashabhuja Durga is Tamasic as opposed to the Hindi belt ashthabhuja Durga

Bengal's Shaktism is heavily rooted in the Tantric Kalikula tradition. In Shakta Tantra, worship during the peak of battle (Mahishasuramardini) or deities tied to Maha-Tamas (the dark, transformative primordial force required to destroy chaotic asuric energy) uses Tamasic rites.

Dashabhuja (Active Combat & Ugra Form): The 10-armed form depicted in Bengali Pandals portrays the exact instant of the slaughter—the spear piercing Mahishasura's chest as he emerges from the severed neck of the buffalo. This raw, fierce act of destruction (Samhara) directly invokes the Tamasic aspect of cosmic dissolution to eliminate evil.

This is reflected in rituals like Navapatrika (botanical/animistic worship), blood/symbolic Bali (sacrifices), offering cooked fish/meat to the Devi, and midnight Sandhi Puja.

Durga image in different art form in Puja pandals are not worshiped. 99% puja is Ghot Pujo and not murti pujo. Bishorjjon is also Ghot Bishorjon. The Murti Bishorjon is just a festival.

Ashtabhuja (Royal & Protective Form): The 8-armed version commonly seen across northern India typically presents a post-battle or protective stance. Riding her lion calmly, holding her weapons in posture rather than violent thrust, she embodies Rajas (royal power and activity) or Sattva (divine peace and protection after order is restored).

In northern and central India, Durga worship is predominantly governed by Smarta, Puranic, and Vaishnava-influenced traditions. The focus is on Sattvic (pure, ascetic) or Rajasic (royal, action-oriented) worship. The rituals emphasize strict vegetarian fasting (Vrata), peaceful Aarti, and Garba/Kanya Pujan.
